Isaac Garcia has sent in a good question in his comment(s) which I have published. Here, again, is his comment and question, regarding the post Amy's new PRA request/demand (see in archives) - I apologize to him for my delay in responding.
from Mr. Garcia:
While I don't agree with a lot of Rene Amy's tactics and actions, I have no problem with him leveraging his rights within the Law to access documents via the PRA.
The public should have free access to such public documents. Do you believe otherwise?
He also wrote:
This isn't about "YOU" or anyone else - PRA requests are part of the public's right to access information regarding government and public agencies.
To squelch this is to squelch our rights as citizens. It limits our right to information that belongs to the public.
Here is my response.
What kind of "information" are we talking about here? are we talking about the "Truth"?
No - as I have written about, the information Rene Amy obtains from PUSD is often distorted by him and turned into a weapon against PUSD and by association, the vulnerable children housed within it. He also uses the PRA for fodder for his latest lawsuit against the district - he is a serial litigator and has made over one-million dollars in PERSONAL profit (he has taken many millions more away from our children's education) off of PUSD.
This is a grave misuse of this Act - this is an ABUSE of this Act.
Another point - what sort of "information" were my e-mails he forcibly obtained from the district? he was obviously attempting to discredit and slander me with this "information" as he has done to others.
Rene Amy is a right-wing extremist with many extremist ties. He is not using the PRA for any good for his community, he is using it to savage the local public school district and make profit off of them. This is wrong!
I'm with John Dean. A conscientious conservative is a decent human being. But right-wing extremists are harmful and no, do not have the "right" to harm their community - as Rene Amy has done over and over again.
Another point - what sort of community are we living in where the local press USES someone like Rene Amy as a source?
Last question - where are the voices of our liberal leaders speaking out against this?
